PAWS assists in providing the highest level of care both physically and mentally to dogs in Wayne County, works to reduce the stray dog population through spay and neuter initiatives, and provides educational and training opportunities to the staff and public alike.

Memberships and Sponsorships Allow Us To Do The Following:

  • Installed acoustic panels to reduce noise in the kennels
  • Replaced 10 intake kennels at the shelter
  • Provide the Leptospirosis vaccination to all dogs entering the shelter
  • Installed fencing for 3 additional play yards
  • Provided play structures in each play yard
  • Landscaped and added trees for shade and privacy to the play yards
  • Provide monthly heartworm prevention to all dogs at the shelter
  • Annual contributions to the Dog Shelter Medical Fund assisting every dog in need of veterinary care.
  • Annual Spay in May contributions to the Spay in Neuter Fund
